Nyssanthes diffusa     R.Br.

This native shrub is commonly known as barbed-wire weed.

Nyssanthes diffusa is described as a "dicot" in the Amaranthaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon species in the Fraser Coast region. Recorded at Marodian with an old record at Hervey Bay. Reported at Mt Bauple, Mt Urah and Grongah National Park.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 4 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Gigoomgan, Malarga, Mount Urah.
