Species information

Amyema bifurcata     (Benth.) Tiegh.

This native epiphyte is commonly known as gum tree mistletoe.

Amyema bifurcata is described as a "dicot" in the Loranthaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

In Fraser Coast region recorded on K'gari (Fraser Island) only. Also reported at Tinnanbar. Host plants June 2018 appears to be a Corymbia citriodora subsp. variegata and Corymbia tesselaris. March 2019 on Eucalyptus tereticornis at Gootchie. April 2023 on Corymbia citriodora at Tiaro. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 5 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Gootchie, St Mary, Talegalla Weir, Tiaro.
