Species information

Amyema conspicua subsp. conspicua     (F.M.Bailey) Danser

This native epiphyte is commonly known as alphitonia mistletoe.

Amyema conspicua subsp. conspicua is described as a "dicot" in the Loranthaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Host plant Alphitonia excelsa, in turn parasitised by Viscum articulatum and Notothixos subaureus (Yengarie 2018). Another reported host is Nreium oleander (https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/146601644). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 16 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, Booral, Burrum Heads, Craignish, Duckinwilla, Granville, Magnolia, Owanyilla, Point Vernon, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tiaro, Tuan Forest, Yengarie.
