Species information

Huberantha nitidissima     (Dunal) Chaowasku

This native tree is commonly known as canary beech.

Huberantha nitidissima is described as a "dicot" in the Annonaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Polyalthia nitidissima (Queensland Flora Census 2021). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 26 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Booral, Burrum Heads, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundathu, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Granville, Howard, K'gari, Magnolia, Mount Urah, Point Vernon, Poona, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Teddington, Tinnanbar, Toogoom, Torquay, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Yerra.
