Species information

Senna didymobotrya     (Fresen.) H.S.Irwin & Barneby

This introduced shrub is commonly known as African senna.

Senna didymobotrya is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

An emerging environmental weed in south-eastern Queensland found in riparian areas (Identic Pty Ltd. Special edition of Environmental Weeds of Australia for Biosecurity Queensland). Reported on Mary River bank at Tinana.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
