Archontophoenix cunninghamiana     (H.Wendl.) H.Wendl. & Drude

This native tree is commonly known as piccabeen palm.

Archontophoenix cunninghamiana is described as a "dicot" in the Arecaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region recorded on K'gari (Fraser Island), Tinana Creek and Mt Walsh. Also reported at Poona Creek, Mt Urah and St Mary. Populations within the region disjunct due to limited suitable habitat. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/100052703 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 11 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple Forest, Boompa, Boonooroo Plains, Dundowran Beach, K'gari, Mount Urah, St Mary, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tinana South, Tuan Forest.
