Species information

Wilkiea huegeliana     (Tul.) A.DC.

This native tree is commonly known as veiny wilkiea.

Wilkiea huegeliana is described as a "dicot" in the Monimiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region recorded at Tinana Creek, St Mary and Lenthalls Dam. Main distribution from near Maryborough southwards but with disjunct occurrences north of Mackay. According to the Australian Plant Census the accepted name is Wilkiea hugeliana. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 6 Fraser Coast localities: Duckinwilla, Howard, St Mary, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tuan Forest.
