Species information

Bryophyllum x houghtonii     (D.B.Ward) P.I.Forst.

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as hybrid mother-of-millions.

Bryophyllum x houghtonii is described as a "dicot" in the Crassulaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Bryophyllum daigremontianum × B. delagoense (Bryophyllum × houghtonii (D.B.Ward) P.I.Forst., a new combination in Crassulaceae for the hybrid Mother of Millions Paul I. Forster Austrobaileya Vol. 7, No. 2 (2006), p. 383). A category 3 restricted invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 11 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bidwill, Craignish, Dundowran Beach, Pacific Haven, Point Vernon, River Heads, Teddington, Toogoom, Urangan, Yengarie.
