Species information

Setaria sphacelata     (Schumach.) Stapf & C.E.Hubb.

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as African pigeon grass.

Setaria sphacelata is described as a "monocot" in the Poaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 11 Fraser Coast localities: Boonooroo Plains, Craignish, Dundowran Beach, Maryborough, River Heads, Talegalla Weir, Toogoom, Tuan Forest, Urraween, Walligan, Yengarie.
