Species information

Citrus australasica     F.Muell.

This native tree is commonly known as finger lime.

Citrus australasica is described as a "dicot" in the Rutaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

No Fraser Coast Region records. Nearest records at Widgee west of Gympie and southwards. Northern limit is Beenleigh district according to Harden, Macdonald and Williams (Rainforest Trees and Shrubs). Local reports at Mount Walsh could be a misidentification of Citrus australis (northern record limit Brooyar west of Gympie). See also Pittosporum multiflorum and Acalypha capilipes (oil glands absent). 

It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
