Species information

Barklya syringifolia     F.Muell.

This native tree is commonly known as crown of gold tree.

Barklya syringifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region recorded only at Mount Bauple and Mount Kanigan. Iconic species in the region due to showy colourful floristic display.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 5 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Gundiah, Kanigan, Tiaro, Tinana South.
