Species information

Benthamina alyxifolia     (F.Muell. ex Benth.) Tiegh.

This native epiphyte is commonly known as shiny-leaved mistletoe.

Benthamina alyxifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Loranthaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Main distribution south from Kenilworth with some smaller populations north from Bundaberg. Reported at Tiaro on host Cassia brewsteri subsp. (Gundiah C.T.White 3491) ( 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
