Species information

Brunoniella australis     (Cav.) Bremek.

This native groundcover is commonly known as blue trumpet.

Brunoniella australis is described as a "dicot" in the Acanthaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Most with lilac flowers although there are some with white flowers (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/196895120). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 35 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Booral, Brooweena, Burgowan, Burrum Heads, Cherwell, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Gigoomgan, Granville, Magnolia, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, Pacific Haven, Point Vernon, Poona, Prawle, River Heads, St Mary, Sunshine Acres, Susan River, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Walliebum, Walligan, Woocoo, Yengarie.
