Cyanicula caerulea     (R.Br.) Hopper & A.P.Br.

This native groundcover is commonly known as tiny blue china orchid.

Cyanicula caerulea is described as a "monocot" in the Orchidaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region which is at the northern limit of the species. Recorded at Tinana and Bauple and reported at Cherwell, Vernon Conservation Park (Walligan), Wongi Waterholes and Torbanlea (Alan Logan) A very small plant with a single linear 3-4cm long hairy leaf held at ground level. Flower stem 5-8cm high with a single (very rarely 2) l-2cm diameter blue flower/s. Flowers June-July. Previously known as Caladenia caerulea. Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
