This native tree is commonly known as Bailey's cypress.

Callitris baileyi is described as a "conifer" in the Cupressaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Near Threatened. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

All records south and south-west of the Fraser Coast region. Nearest record is Murgon. ‘Back on Track’ high priority plant species for the Burnett Mary NRM region. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/166028220 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
