Species information

Acacia holosericea     A.Cunn. ex G.Don

This introduced tree is commonly known as soapy wattle.

Acacia holosericea is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A Least Concern native species with wide distribution across northern Australia to as far south as Bargara. Not recorded in the Fraser Coast region but occasionally cultivated. Naturalised in WB. Native in all other districts (Queensland Flora Census 2022). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
