Species information

Acacia maidenii     F.Muell.

This native tree is commonly known as Maiden's wattle.

Acacia maidenii is described as a "dicot" in the Leguminosae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A relatively common wattle in Fraser Coast region however usually present in small numbers.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 59 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Beaver Rock, Bidwill, Boompa, Boonooroo Plains, Booral, Burrum Heads, Burrum Town, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundathu, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Gigoomgan, Glenbar, Glenorchy, Glenwood, Gootchie, Granville, Gundiah, Howard, Island Plantation, Kanigan, Kawungan, Magnolia, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Nikenbah, Owanyilla, Pacific Haven, Paterson, Point Vernon, Prawle, River Heads, St Mary, Sunshine Acres, Susan River, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Tandora, Teddington, Teebar, Tiaro, Tinana, Tinana South, Toogoom, Torquay, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Urraween, Walkers Point, Walligan, Wondunna, Woocoo, Yengarie, Yerra.
