Species information

Caladenia undescribed  

This native groundcover is commonly known as undescribed caladenia.

Caladenia undescribed is described as a "monocot" in the Orchidaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A very small plant similar to Caladenia alata, but much smaller in all characters. Leaf 1, linear, erect, 3-5cm high. Flower stem 6-10cm high, with a single pure white flower 7-8mm diameter. Labellum mid-lobe, yellow or orange. A rare species only known to occur at Tinnanbar, where it grows and flowers sympatrically with Caladenia alata (Alan Logan). https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/132220936 

It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
