Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.
This variety one of the three recognised in Queensland. In the Australian Plant Census known as Hibbertia obtusifolia. Recorded at St Mary, Tiaro and Tinana Creek. More rigid than the normal form, more or less hairy, sometimes densely. Larger flowers with numerous stamens (Bentham, G. (30 May 1863), Flora Australiensis 1).
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
Reported at 6 Fraser Coast localities: Wondunna, Urangan, Walligan, Teddington, Boompa, St Mary.
