Species information

Patersonia sericea var. sericea   R.Br.

This native groundcover is commonly known as silky pruple flag.

Patersonia sericea var. sericea is described as a "monocot" in the Iridaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Dark blue almost purple flowers with silky hairy bracts below (Wildflowers of the Cooloola-Noosa Area, Arthur Harrold). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.

Reported at 23 Fraser Coast localities: Mount Urah, Bidwill, Yerra, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Talegalla Weir, Tandora, K'gari, Burrum Town, Aldershot, Susan River, Poona, Boonooroo Plains, Tuan Forest, St Mary, Walliebum, Walligan, Urangan, Sunshine Acres, Dunmora, Maryborough West, Takura, Duckinwilla.
