A category 3 restricted invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014 (https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/72896/cabomba.pdf). Reported at Ululah Lagoon, Maryborough in 2008. Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.
It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not
listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in the Atlas of Living Australia.
