Species information

Dendrophthoe glabrescens     (Blakely) Barlow

This native epiphyte is commonly known as orange-flowered mistletoe.

Dendrophthoe glabrescens is described as a "dicot" in the Loranthaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Reported host plants at Talegalla Weir, Lophostemon confertus; at Walligan, Melaleuca nodosa; at Burrum Heads and Urangan, Casuarina glauca; at Yengarie, Eucalyptus latisinensis, Eucalyptus tereticornis, Acacia disparrima, Melaleuca viminalis and Grevillea robusta; at Maryborough Melia azedarach.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 13 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Boonooroo Plains, Burrum Heads, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran Beach, Gootchie, Maryborough, Poona, Urangan, Walliebum, Yengarie.
