Drosera spatulata var. gympiensis     R.P.Gibson & I.Snyder

This native groundcover is commonly known as spoon-leaf sundew.

Drosera spatulata var. gympiensis is described as a "dicot" in the Droseraceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Very uncommon variety recorded only near Townsville and in the Tin Can Bay Tinnanbar area. Known as the “hairy sepal form” (http://legacy.carnivorousplants.org/cpn/Species/v34n2p56_60.html - accessed 18 Sept 2017). Reported at Vernon Conservation Park. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/105280539 https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/144696461. Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
