Species information

Eucalyptus robusta x tereticornis     Sm.

This native tree is commonly known as swamp mahogany cross.

Eucalyptus robusta x Eucalyptus tereticornis is described as a "dicot" in the Myrtaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A recognised hybrid very restricted in occurrence reported at Toogoom and Eli Waters. Eucalyptus robusta hybrids with Eucalyptus tereticornis are sometimes referred to as Eucalyptus patentinervis R. T. Baker in New South Wales (http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Eucalyptus~robusta). Appears to produce fertile seed (Peter Young). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
