Species information

Grevillea robusta     A.Cunn. ex R.Br.

This native tree is commonly known as silky oak.

Grevillea robusta is described as a "dicot" in the Proteaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Natural northern limit is Kilkivan, Fraser Coast specimens likely planted or naturalized outside the species pre-European range (Gwen Harden, Hugh Nicholson, Bill McDonald, Nan Nicholson, Terry Tame, John Williams. 2014. Rainforest Plants of Australia).  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 21 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Booral, Dundowran Beach, Gigoomgan, Glenorchy, Glenwood, Gundiah, Howard, Malarga, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Pacific Haven, Point Vernon, St Mary, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tiaro, Tinana, Toogoom, Torbanlea, Walligan.
