Species information

Ageratum houstonianum     Mill.

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as blue billygoat weed.

Ageratum houstonianum is described as a "dicot" in the Asteraceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

As at 01/07/2016 listed as a non-declared environmental weed for the Fraser Coast region. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 46 Fraser Coast localities: Aldershot, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Beaver Rock, Bidwill, Boompa, Booral, Burrum Heads, Burrum River, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran Beach, Gigoomgan, Glenorchy, Granville, Gundiah, Howard, Kawungan, Magnolia, Maryborough, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, Paterson, Pialba, Point Vernon, Poona, Prawle, River Heads, St Mary, Susan River, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tiaro, Tinana, Tinana South, Torbanlea, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Urraween, Walkers Point, Walligan, Wondunna, Yengarie, Yerra.
