Species information

Alyxia sharpei     P.I.Forst.

This native shrub is commonly known as rough alyxia.

Alyxia sharpei is described as a "dicot" in the Apocynaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Confined to the Miriam Vale district, Boyne Valley and the Callide Range, outside of Fraser Coast region (Gwen Harden, Hugh Nicholson, Bill McDonald, Nan Nicholson, Terry Tame, John Williams. 2014. Rainforest Plants of Australia.). Recorded at Gundiah. Other reports may be narrow leaved forms of Alyxia ruscifolia.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
