Species information

Nymphoides indica     (L.) Kuntze

This native aquatic plant is commonly known as water snowflake.

Nymphoides indica is described as a "dicot" in the Menyanthaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). Regarded as a wetland species in Queensland WetlandInfo.

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 18 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple Forest, Booral, Burrum Heads, Duckinwilla, Dundowran Beach, Gundiah, Howard, K'gari, Maryborough, Pacific Haven, Pialba, River Heads, Teddington, Tinana, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Urraween, Yengarie.
