Species information

Pavetta australiensis     Bremek.

This native shrub is commonly known as butterfly bush.

Pavetta australiensis is described as a "dicot" in the Rubiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

See Pavetta australiensis var. australiensis. The type variety is the only variety recorded in the Fraser Coast region.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 21 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bauple Forest, Bidwill, Boompa, Booral, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran Beach, Gigoomgan, Howard, Magnolia, Malarga, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tuan Forest.
