Species information

Persoonia cornifolia     A.Cunn. ex R.Br.

This native shrub is commonly known as broad-leaved geebung.

Persoonia cornifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Proteaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon species in the Fraser Coast region recorded at Mt Walsh which is the northern limit. Also reported at Tinana Creek, Teddington, Talegalla Weir and Poona. QBRI confirmed identification of specimen from Talegalla 2016. Mature fruit green (Scott Gavins). 

It has not been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 5 Fraser Coast localities: Owanyilla, Poona, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Tuan Forest.
