Species information

Coleus omissus     (P.I.Forst.) P.I.Forst.

This native groundcover is commonly known as cockspur flower.

Coleus omissus is described as a "dicot" in the Lamiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Endangered. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is classified as Endangered.

Foliage slightly scented and concolorous (Paul I. Forster Austrobaileya Vol. 3, No. 4 (1992), pp. 729-740 ). No records in Fraser Coast region. Appears to be restricted to an area just south of Fraser Coast inside the Gympie region on rocky steep areas. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
