Species information

Prostanthera ovalifolia     R.Br.

This native shrub is commonly known as purple mint bush.

Prostanthera ovalifolia is described as a "dicot" in the Lamiaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Records for the Fraser Coast Region are limited to Mount Bauple, St Mary and Gundiah. Reported at Glenbar State Forest 4. Purplish or bluish flowers (Stanley and Ross. 1986. Flora of south-eastern Queensland). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 3 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Boompa, Mount Urah.
