Pterostylis nutans     R.Br.

This native groundcover is commonly known as nodding greenhood.

Pterostylis nutans is described as a "monocot" in the Orchidaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser coast region recorded at K'gari (Fraser Island) and Aramara. Reported at Poona National Park (Maaroom), Talegalla Weir, Poona township and Tinnanbar. A small, slender plant with a basal rosette of lanceolate leaves at ground level. Flowering stem 12-20cm high with a single bulbous nodding green flower with white suffusions. Flowering period May-June (Alan Logan). Listed as a special least concern species in Queensland (https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/plants-animals/plants/protected-plants/harvesting). https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/103288366 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
