Myrsine arenaria     Jackes

This native tree is commonly known as sand muttonwood.

Myrsine arenaria is described as a "dicot" in the Myrsinaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Restricted distribution within the Fraser Coast region recorded only on K'gari (Fraser Island). Official distribution is from Coolum north to K'gari (Fraser Island) (Gwen Harden, Hugh Nicholson, Bill McDonald, Nan Nicholson, Terry Tame, John Williams. 2014. Rainforest Plants of Australia). Also reported at Booral (https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/188989468). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
