Salvia coccinea     Juss. ex Murray

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as red salvia.

Salvia coccinea is described as a "dicot" in the Lamiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Flowering Mt Bauple July 2016. Also reported on Big Woody Island. https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/110537996 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 9 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Boompa, Craignish, Dundowran Beach, Great Sandy Strait, Teddington, Tinana, Toogoom, Urangan.
