Species information

Psydrax odorata forma australiana     S.T.Reynolds & R.J.F.Hend.

This native shrub is commonly known as shiny-leaved canthium.

Psydrax odorata forma australiana is described as a "dicot" in the Rubiaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Is one of two forms of Psydrax odorata subsp. australiana. Was Canthium odoratum (Harden, McDonald and Williams). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 10 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Bauple Forest, Boompa, Doongul, Gigoomgan, Kanigan, River Heads, St Mary, Teddington, Urraween.
