Species information

Cyclophyllum longipetalum     S.T.Reynolds & R.J.F.Hend.

This native tree is commonly known as brush canthium.

Cyclophyllum longipetalum is described as a "dicot" in the Rubiaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Uncommon in the Fraser Coast region recorded at K'gari (Fraser Island) and at Mary River Heads. This appears to be the northern limit of the species. Domatia usually prominent (Rainforest Trees and Shrubs, Harden, McDonald and Williams). 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
