Species information

Cascabela thevetia     (L.) Lippold

This introduced tree is commonly known as yellow oleander.

Cascabela thevetia is described as a "dicot" in the Apocynaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

A category 3 restricted invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014. Also known as Captain Cook tree. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 7 Fraser Coast localities: Dundowran Beach, Magnolia, Point Vernon, Tiaro, Tinana, Toogoom, Urangan.
