Species information

Centratherum riparium     (A.Cunn. ex DC.) A.R.Bean

This native groundcover is commonly known as native centratherum.

Centratherum riparium is described as a "dicot" in the Asteraceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Previously known as Centratherum punctatum subsp. australianum and Centratherum australianum (Australian Plant Census). Similar to the exotic Centratherum punctatum. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 6 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, St Mary, Talegalla Weir, Tandora, Teddington, Yengarie.
