Species information

Pittosporum multiflorum     (A.Cunn. ex Loudon) L.Cayzer, Crisp & I.Telford

This native shrub is commonly known as orange thorn.

Pittosporum multiflorum is described as a "dicot" in the Pittosporaceae family.

Flagged as a potential locally significant species in the Fraser Coast Region. In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Main populations recorded outside of Fraser Coast region south of Goomboorian. Isolated disjunct records further north near Rockhampton.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census but is not listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 5 Fraser Coast localities: Bauple, Kanigan, Magnolia, Teddington, Urraween.
