Species information

Eragrostis curvula     (Schrad.) Nees

This introduced groundcover is commonly known as African lovegrass.

Eragrostis curvula is described as a "monocot" in the Poaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is not classified as it is not native to Queensland. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Listed as an invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014 but not prohibited or restricted. Fraser Coast Regional Council is encouraging effective management in the region. Reported at North Aramara. 

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.
