Species information

Oplismenus aemulus     (R.Br.) Roem. & Schult.

This native groundcover is commonly known as creeping shade grass.

Oplismenus aemulus is described as a "monocot" in the Poaceae family.

In the Queensland Nature Conservation Act it is classified as Least Concern. Under the Federal Environment Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act it is not classified.

Outside of Queensland and New South Wales known as Oplismenus hirtellus.  

It has been recorded in the Wide Bay district in the Queensland Herbarium Census and is listed as occurring in the Fraser Coast region in Queensland Herbarium Wildlife Online.

Reported at 32 Fraser Coast localities: Antigua, Bauple, Bauple Forest, Boompa, Burrum Heads, Craignish, Doongul, Duckinwilla, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Gigoomgan, Granville, Great Sandy Strait, Howard, Magnolia, Malarga, Mount Urah, Owanyilla, Pioneers Rest, Prawle, River Heads, St Mary, Takura, Talegalla Weir, Teddington, Teebar, Tiaro, Tinana, Tinnanbar, Tuan Forest, Urangan, Yengarie.
